Where does mother's day come from?

Mother's Day originated in the USA in 1908 when teacher Anna Jarvis wanted to honor her mother and her work with a special day. It was in 1919 that Mother's Day began to be celebrated in Sweden, thanks to the author Cecilia Bååth-Holmberg. She introduced Mother's Day on the last Sunday in May, as she believed there were plenty of flowers and greenery in the country at that time. Giving mom flowers on Mother's Day is always a good idea. - We are happy to help you find the perfect bouquet for your mom. Choose from Mother's Day bouquets here!

Why celebrate Mother's Day?

Twice a year, there are days when we can honor our parents a little extra - Mother's Day and Father's Day. Which came first, Mother's Day or Father's Day? The tradition of celebrating Mother's Day arose earlier than Father's Day. Mother's Day is a day where you can show extra appreciation and gratitude to a female figure in your life by sending flowers, handwritten cards, or showing care. In the past, Mother's Day was the day of the year when a mother could take a break from her household chores, but today Mother's Day is celebrated in slightly different ways.
